It has been reported by the official NXT Twitter account that following a kayfabe attack by Candice LeRae last week, Tegan Nox has suffered another torn ACL.
The kayfabe nature of the report did initially leave a chink of light that the Welsh battler suffered a storyline injury, playing on her past ACL problems. Sadly it has been confirmed as legitimate and surgery has already been confirmed on a third ACL injury in as many years and leaves her wrestling future in serious doubt.
Her first injury came just after she was announced as an entrant in the first Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017. She then made her comeback in the second edition the following year but suffered serious knee damage in her quarter final match with Rhea Ripley that kept her out again, this time until June 2019.
Since then she has been wrestling on the NXT brand and has slowly worked her way into a top position on the card.
She made her main roster debut as an entrant in this year’s Royal Rumble and looked a good bet to be a contender for the NXT Women’s Title this year.
Let’s hope that the surgery is a success and she can battle back once again.
