Steve Cutler has been released by WWE.
The SmackDown roster member’s departure from the company was marked by the customary ‘Future Endeavors’ WWE.com story and social media post.
Cutler had most prominently been part of the Forgotten Sons faction, first in NXT and then briefly on SmackDown in April and May.
The faction, comprising of Cutler, Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker, was removed from television abruptly in the wake of comments made by Ryker in the aftermath of the Black Lives Matter protests that swept the USA earlier this year.
Last month, Cutler and Blake returned to television as The Knights Of The Lone Wolf, acting as back up for King Corbin. This grouping was shortlived and has now obviously come to an end following Cutler’s release.
There is no word on what prompted the decision, nor any speculation on what the future holds for Wesley Blake, though it is noticeable that his former NXT Tag Team Championship winning partner, Buddy Murphy is similarly spinning his wheels without a defined role.
