WWE Planning Event To Celebrate 25 Years Of Austin

WWE reportedly have big plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the debut of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in January 2021.

It’s been nearly a quarter of a century since ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin first debuted with WWE and it seems WWE are planning an event worthy of such a milestone.

WrestleVotes tweeted: –

This should come as no surprise, The Rattlesnake is one of the biggest stars wrestling has ever seen and after holding a similar 25th anniversary party on Smackdown for fellow Attitude Era star Triple H on April 24th this year, Austin was bound to get the nod.

Austin debuted for WWE as ‘ The Ringmaster’ on January 8th 1996 and was awarded the ‘Million Dollar Championship’ by Ted DiBiase. His debut match was the following week in which he defeated Matt Hardy. Austin soon shed ‘The Ringmaster’ gimmick and transformed into ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

This change would morph into 6 WWF Championships and along with other accolades Stone Cold became one of the biggest merchandise sellers in business.

With the anniversary of Austin’s official debut falling on a Friday next year, expect the celebration to go down on either that night’s episode of SmackDown or Raw four days later.

Get the Steveweisers in, it’s gonna be one hell of a party!
