Rajah.com reports that WWE is still hoping to run live events with crowds in July. WWE has been in working to organise events at the 8000-capacity RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida on Friday 24th and Monday 27th July.
Of course, the capacity would be much lower due to social distancing measures, but a crowd of a few thousand would be a huge difference from the few dozen Performance Center trainees and NXT superstars we’ve been used to in recent weeks.
This follows the Observer Newsletter stating that WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon is keen for WWE to be the first company to run live indoor sports events with a proper crowd.
Vince is always trying to be first, but with increased rates of COVID-19 infection across the South of the United States including Florida, it seems more likely that fans won’t return to WWE shows until August or possibly even later.
