WWE Confirm Release Of Andrade

Following news of his release request in recent days, WWE has confirmed that former NXT and United States Champion Andrade has left the company.

Andrade

Following tonight’s Fastlane PPV; WWE announced that Andrade has been released.

It had been reported earlier this month that the former NXT Champion had requested his departure from the company but no word had been given on whether his request would be granted – until now.

The former La Sombra debuted in NXT in 2016 before winning the brand’s top title in 2017 from Drew McIntyre.

In 2018 he made his main roster debut as an entrant into the Royal Rumble before losing his title to Aleister Black during WrestleMania weekend. He was soon drafted to SmackDown where he stayed until being moved to Raw in late 2019, soon defeating Rey Mysterio for the United States title.

The real life partner of Charlotte Flair last appeared on television in October 2020.

When he is contractually allowed to appear for other promotions, Andrade is sure to be a hugely sought after free agent.
