On this week’s Dynamite, a video aired to announce that AEW will hold a women’s tag team tournament this summer.

Nicknamed ‘The Deadly Draw’, this eight-team tournament will be fought for the Women’s Tag Team Cup, suggesting there isn’t a plan to crown the winners as Women’s Tag Team Champions.

AEW have recently put the team of Brandi Rhodes and Allie together, who feature heavily in the video along with longer-term roster members such as Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford and Big Swole, as well as more recent signings like Anna Jay.

As there are 16 women in the tournament and only 19 women listed on the roster page of their website, either AEW are hoping travel restrictions are lifted allowing some of those stars to fly in, or have plans to add to their women’s ranks.
