The ratings for both NXT and AEW Dynamite for Wednesday night have been released. It looks like the run of quality episodes for both shows is beginning to pay off.
The numbers watching Dynamite have soared, pulling in an average 901,000 viewers over the course of the show. This is a 17%jump from last week’s 773,000.
NXT on the other hand pulled in 753,000 which is a smaller, but still impressive increase from last week’s 707,000.
This is AEW’s highest viewership since the 18th of March where they reached a figure of 932,000.
There has been a lot of good news coming AEW’s way recently with them breaking 1 million two weeks ago for 5 minutes during The Young Bucks vs Butcher and The Blade, as well as once again winning the key 18-49 demographic.
It is certainly an opportune time for them to be increasing in numbers when just last month on the 6th of July, Raw brought in record low viewership.
Of course, the ‘Demo-God’ Chris Jericho has addressed this on Twitter.
Both Dynamite and NXT have showed impressive staying power in the face of pandemic influenced ratings drops for both Raw and SmackDown.
Maybe the old adage about iron sharpening iron is ringing true in the Wednesday night wrestling wars.
