Last night Walter retained the NXT UK Championship against Tommaso Ciampa, and less than 24 hours again he was back on the WWE Network defending the belt.
On tonight’s NXT UK: Prelude, Walter defended the title against Rampage Brown in a match which we say HAS to go on your watch list for those who weren’t watching live.
This wasn’t your slow-paced match between two big guys, as both men went all out and Rampage made it look like he could win the title on numerous occasions.
In the end it wasn’t to be his night as Walter retained, but it took a lot to keep Rampage down.
After Brown kicked out of a German suplex and a powerbomb, Walter had to resort to a top rope splash for the three count.
In other action from Prelude, Emilia McKenzie had her first match in NXT UK for two years teaming with Meiko Satomura against Isla Dawn and NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray.
McKenzie got the pinfall reversing a northern lights suplex attempt with a small package, whilst Ray was stuck outside the ring not wanting to go past Satomura.
As the duo celebrated, Aiofe Valkyrie came to ringside and stared them both down, giving an indication of what is to come next.
We also now have a new number one contender to A-Kid’s Heritage Cup, as Tyler Bate managed to get the better of Noam Dar in the sixth and final round of their encounter.
Bate got a quick pinfall in the first round, before Dar equalised in the fifth with a kneebar having worked the knee over for most of the match.
Somehow Bate found the strength to hit the Tyler Driver 97 to get the win.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that NXT UK only had three matches on their WrestleMania week show – they made it something extremely special!
