Triple H Confirms WWE Draft Later This Year

It has now been confirmed that there will be another draft within WWE later this year, although the COO has teased that there may be an additional element this time round.

There have been rumours of an imminent WWE Draft taking place for some time now. The last time a draft was held in WWE was October 2019.

On the conference call following NXT Takeover XXX, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque confirmed that this is true, and it could be happening soon. Not only that, but NXT will also have draft picks. The WWE COO stated:

“Wrestlers have the opportunity to wrap up their runs on Raw or SmackDown and move to a completely different brand with a different style in NXT. It won’t be the first time main roster stars have returned to NXT since the black and gold brand shifted to USA. Finn Balor, Charlotte Flair and Breezango have all made the move back to NXT over the course of the past year.”

Triple H also went on to discuss NXT becoming a third brand.

“All three brands are very important and you can’t just take away from one to support the other”

He confirmed on the call that the Draft will take place before the end of 2020.

We recently posted a mini-series about how WWE should book the next draft. Check them out here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
