One of the big winners out of the worldwide lockdown has been Netflix, who have added a gargantuan 15.77 million new subscribers worldwide over the last three months against a forecast of seven million. Who would have thought we would have all turned to binge watching TV shows while stuck at home. Big shock, right?

Two of the biggest drivers of that have been the zeitgeist capturing documentary series Tiger King (F****n’ Carol Baskin!) and the wonderful The Last Dance, telling the story of Michael Jordan and The Chicago Bulls.

Starting this Sunday, wrestling fans are going to get their own answer to this series as WWE releases The Last Ride exclusively on the WWE Network.

Whereas ‘Dance’ centres on the GOAT in the basketball world in Jordan, The Last Ride gave unprecedented access to arguably the GOAT of wrestling characters, The Undertaker.

Having teased this series previously, WWE today set out a press release giving full details on the series which has seemingly been filmed under the radar over the last four years, with the narrative picking up in the first episode with ‘Taker getting ready to face the currently invisible Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.

The series is split over five parts to drop over May and June and offers never before contemplated access to The Undertaker (Or Mark Calaway as he is noticeably referred to in the promotion and press release) as well as purpose-filmed interviews with such stars as HHH, Batista, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Vince McMahon himself!

Make no mistake, if The Last Ride lives up to expectations, this could set new standards in behind the scenes wrestling documentaries.

As mentioned, the series debuts on WWE Network directly after Money In The Bank. For fans in the UK, that will be the early hours of Monday 11th May, somewhere between 3AM-4AM.
