Last week’s NXT special, New Year’s Evil, was all set to play host to NXT’s second Fight Pit match between Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa.
On the day of the event, WWE pulled the match from all advertising which was eventually explained by an injury to Timothy Thatcher.
In reality, reports emerged that WWE simply decided to hold the match back for a future episode. Now we know exactly when that future episode will be.
Next Wednesday, 20th January will see Thatcher and Ciampa do battle in the no-rope cage match.
The first Fight Pit match was met with critical acclaim in the early Summer of 2020 when Thatcher faced off with Matt Riddle in the Original Bro’s NXT swansong. WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle served as the special referee in that match.
The match promises to be an intense and physical encounter. We cannot wait!
