During Wednesday night’s episode of NXT it was announced that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will return next year – in fact it begins in two!
The popular tag team tournament will begin on January 13th on NXT. The bulk of the official team announcements are expected next week during the New Year’s Evil episode.
However, Adam Cole and Roderick Strong have already announced that they will represent The Undisputed Era.
The tournament, named in tribute to the late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, began in 2015 and has been held every year since with the exception of 2017. Samoa Joe and current NXT Champion Finn Balor won the original edition and the following year it was the The Authors of Pain who came out on top. The Undisputed Era, Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, won in 2018, Ricochet and Aleister Black won in 2019, and most recently the 2020 tournament was won by Riddle and Pete Dunne under the team name ‘The BroserWeights’.
