It seems that All Elite Wrestling are fast stamping their mark across Europe, as Sky Sports in Italy is the latest company and country to pick their product and drop WWE.
This follows what happened in the UK, where WWE moved to BT Sport at the turn of the year after not having their deal with Sky renewed.
The Italian development was discussed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, where it seems a done deal.
Did you hear about the Italy deal? WWE lost their TV with Sky in Italy. The different Sky Networks are dropping them in the UK and they’re dropping them for a combined [reason] of the high price that WWE charged and the low ratings that they delivered which is sounding familiar. So, Sky in Italy dropped them and picked up AEW. So, AEW is going to start there on July 31st.
This will help increase AEW’s stance in Europe, especially with discussions about a UK event taking place at Craven Cottage becoming public.
