On last night’s Raw, Seth Rollins attempted to spin his vicious assault on Rey Mysterio as a good thing and a necessary action. And when Aleister Black sought vengeance in a bout against Rollins disciple Buddy Murphy, ‘The Monday Night Messiah’ took advantage of events earlier that night.
Austin Theory had been attacked by his colleagues Andrade and Angel Garza for messing up in their tag team defeat to Kevin Owens and Apollo Crews. And when Murphy faced Black, Theory was still in a bad way at ringside.
As Buddy struggled to avoid Black’s wrath, an increasingly-desperate Rollins saw Theory laying nearby and evidently managed to convince the prospect to join his cause in just a few words.
Rollins now finds himself flanked by Murphy, Theory and the Authors of Pain – though the imposing tag team haven’t been on TV for a while during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Will anyone be able to take down the increasingly-maniacal Rollins’ organisation? Will Mysterio be in any shape to be a part of that resistance? And who could he and Black possibly recruit to level the playing field?
