Road Warrior Animal Passes Away At 60

One half of one of wrestling’s greatest ever tag teams has passed away.

Joseph Laurinaitis, better known in WWE as Road Warrior Animal, has sadly passed on. He was 60.

Animal, along with his partner Hawk, formed the Road Warriors (Legion of Doom in WWE) and are widely regarded as one of the best tag teams of all time.

Throughout their time as a duo, they reigned as NWA Tag champions and had multiple runs with the WWF Tag titles.

With their unique look and the way in which they were booked to plough through most of their opponents, the Road Warriors became cultural icons and a rare tag team booked as headliners.

The first mention of Animal’s passing was from long-time friend Hulk Hogan.

Since then, multiple people have shared their condolences including Tommy Dreamer and countless fans. Road Warrior Animal’s official account released a statement.

Fellow L.O.D member Hawk passed on in 2003 after suffering a heart attack. It is not yet known what the cause of death was for Animal.

All of us at Hooked On Wrestling would like to send our thoughts and condolences to the family of Joseph Laurinaitis.
