As we reported yesterday, rising British star Ridge Holland suffered a freak but seemingly serious injury on this week’s episode of NXT.
After a dive on to the former Batley Bulldogs rugby league player by Oney Lorcan, Holland crumpled to the floor and the referee immediately threw up the ‘X’ sign before the newcomer was stretchered away from ringside.
Now it has been confirmed that Holland has already undergone surgery on not one but both legs. He suffered a fractured and dislocated left ankle as well as patellar dislocation and a patellar tendon rupture in his right knee.
It is an incredible list of injuries from just one simple move and it is likely to sideline Holland for some time. No word has been given on his exact timeline for recovery but we wish him a speedy recovery.
NXT has been a victim of the injury bug recently. Karrion Kross and Tegan Nox have suffered shoulder and knee injuries respectively that will keep them out for months. In addition, in his NXT Title match with Kyle O’Reilly at this past weekend’s NXT TakeOver 31, Finn Balor suffered a broken jaw in two places.
We will update this story with news on Holland’s expected recovery time when it becomes available.
