Wade Barrett

We’ve got some GOOD news for you.

It has been reported by Ryan Satin on Pro Wrestling Sheet that Wade ‘Bad News’ Barrett is set to rejoin WWE this week as a commentator on NXT.

Barrett (Real name Stu Bennett) left WWE in 2016. He has not appeared in the ring since, instead concentrating on commentary. He has had stints in the UK with WOS Wrestling on ITV and for NWA Powerrr.

The Englishman is not thought to have signed a contract with the company with this week being a one off deal. If all parties enjoy the experience, there is of course the possibility this will grow to something more long term.

Barrett made his WWE now in NXT when the brand was a hybrid wrestling/reality competition show, winning the first series.

In his six years with WWE he also served as leader of the original Nexus faction and The Corre. He won the Intercontinental Title in 2012 before changing his gimmick for eh popular ‘Bad News Barrett’ moniker the following year.

He was crowned King Of The Ring the following year and ended his WWE run as a member of The League Of Nations alongside Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio.
