WWE’s television tapings were thrown into disarray this week due to a contracted talent testing positive for COVID-19.
As a result, the tapings for next week’s Raw & Smackdown were cancelled on Tuesday while the company conducted virus tests for all personnel on site.
The tapings for this coming Monday’s Raw but former Universal Champion Kevin Owens was not part of them.
It has been reported by Fightful Select (Subscription) that Owens informed management that he did not wish to participate in the tapings due to concern over the recent positive test.
He was said to have made his request in a professional manner with management reacting to it in a similar manner.
At the start of the pandemic affected tapings in March, WWE management made it clear to all talent and employees that anyone that did not feel comfortable working during this period was under no obligation to do so.
So far at least, they look to have been good on this promise as Fightful reports that Owens has received no noticeable heat for his decision.
KO defeated Angel Garza this last week on Raw. There is no word on when he will return to the active roster.
