WWE has issued a press release regarding the imminent launch of WWE 2K Battlegrounds, due for worldwide launch on 18th September.
One of the key points of the launch is a video by Paul Heyman, in his first on-screen appearance since WrestleMania 36, where Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre.
Heyman was also removed as Executive Director Of Raw earlier this year, however it appears he will be a key part of the new game’s Campaign Mode.
The official press release also says that Heyman will be joined by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in Campaign Mode, where a new brand for WWE is presented to Vince McMahon.
The game also seems online-heavy as is the trend, with King Of The Battleground, Online Tournament, and Battleground Challenge Modes heavily featured.
For the technical details, the game is “developed by Saber Interactive, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and is currently scheduled for worldwide release on September 18, 2020 for the PlayStation®4 system, the Xbox One family of devices, including the Xbox One X and Windows PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch™ system and Stadia.”
