In the least surprising news in recent NXT history, we found out this week that The Undisputed Era are going back into the War Games cage to face the newly formed Kings Of NXT.
On last night’s episode of NXT it was announced that NXT TakeOver: War Games will be held on Sunday December 6th and will mark the fourth year in a row where The Undisputed Era will take part in the iconic team-based cage match.
For weeks we have seen Pat McAfee slowly form a new stable to further his ongoing feud with Adam Cole and his stablemates. First he aligned with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch as he helped them win the NXT Tag Team Championship. A few weeks later, Pete Dunne returned to screens for the first time since March and turned on Kyle O’Reilly to complete the squad subsequently dubbed The Kings Of NXT.
The Undisputed Era made their first appearance as a full time in a number of weeks last night to brawl with the Kings and set up this eagerly anticipated match. The last few weeks have seen the steady babyface turn of Cole, O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong and fans are revelling in the chance to finally properly get behind a group of guys they have longed to cheer for some time.
The women’s War Games match has also started to take shape. Team Candice will consist of Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell and two other superstars (Likely Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai) taking on Team Shotzi which will be led into battle by the tank commander Shotzi Blackheart. Expect that team to be made up of three of Rhea Ripley, Io Shirai, Toni Storm and Ember Moon.
War Games will take place in the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida and be broadcast on the WWE Network.
