Another new stable was formed this week on AEW Dynamite when QT Marshall completed his anticipated heel turn and in the process orchestrated a vicious split within The Nightmare Family.
The angle went down during Marshall’s exhibition match with Cody Rhodes. Arn Anderson served as the special referee and during the match, Marshall hit out at the former Horseman out of nowhere. The legend was soon attended to by Dustin Rhodes, Lee Johnson and The Gunn Club as Marshall left the scene.
While this was happening, three Nightmare Family trainees, Anthony Ogogo, Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto began a vicious surprise attack on their now former teammates. Former Olympic boxer Ogogo punched Cody Rhodes in his kidneys, Marshall hit Dustin with a piledriver on the stage and all three trainees hit a Shied style powerbomb on Lee Johnson.
The carnage was nearly capped off my Marshall attacking Cody with a chair but she was warded off by Red Velvet who came to her recent partner’s aid.
This development adds another group to AEW’s burgeoning mix of alliances and gives Marshall a chance to raise his profile in the organisation while introducing the three trainees in an organic and targeted fashion.
Ogogo is a British former boxer who competed at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, securing a bronze medal. In 2019 it was announced he would be AEW’s first signed development wrestler.
Solow is an independent wrestler recently signed to a full time AEW contract. At this point, his name is perhaps most well known as the former partner of WWE star Bayley.
Comoroto is a former NXT trainee who was released by WWE in the pandemic induced roster cuts in April 2020. He made his AEW in late 2020 with a loss to Darby Allin on AEW Dark. In January he faced Jon Moxley in a losing effort on his Dynamite debut. He joined The Nightmare Family soon after.
