Last week on RAW matches were held to decide which three superstars would face off this week to see who would go on to the ‘TLC: Tables, Ladders And Chairs’ PPV on Sunday December 20th to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. The winners of those matches were Keith Lee, Riddle, and A.J. Styles and they met this week in a Sudden Death Triple Threat match.
Quite how a ‘Sudden Death’ triple threat match differs from a normal triple threat match, we don’t know!
The three superstars waste no time getting the match going with Riddle throwing Styles into a barrier at the start and then when everyone was back in the ring Lee showing off his agility with a double leap frog.
Not to be outdone, Riddle shows his strength by carrying Lee out from the corner and attempting a PowerBomb, but Lee escaped.
Towards the end of the match Riddle hit an overhead kick and a German Suplex on A.J. and gets a near fall. He then strikes Lee which only angers the big man. Eventually Riddle leveled Lee with a big kick but doesn’t see Styles coming at him with the Phenomenal Forearm.
A.J. covered Riddle for the pin and the win and becomes the new number one contender for the WWE Championship.
The match is now official. At the upcoming TLC PPV on December 20th A.J. Styles will face off against Drew McIntyre.
