It looks like it’s hunting season in the WWE jungle once again with a whole raft of roster moves rumoured to be imminent.
We have already seen Matt Riddle leaving the black and yellow brand to be announced as SmackDown’s latest superstar. There have also been strong recent rumours that call ups for Dominik Dijakovic (to Raw) and Chelsea Green (As exclusively reported this week by WrestleTalk) are also in the offing.
Now a new report from Wrestling Inc has thrown two more names into the mix.
Velveteen Dream and Io Sharai.
Both stars are facing title matches this coming Sunday at NXT Takeover: In Your House and the results of those could be a good indication of how accurate these reports are.
With the global pandemic throwing WWE’s (And the world’s) normal patterns completely off kilter, the usual raft of calls ups post-WrestleMania didn’t happen this year. With Riddle as the first, it seems these continued reports represent the start of that process for this year.
With both of WWE’s main programmes due a dose of new talent, it is imperative WWE do not weaken NXT too significantly with these call ups. With Karrion Kross and Timothy Thatcher coming straight in to main event pushes, it looks like the creative team in Orlando are bracing themselves to ensure NXT doesn’t miss a step after it loses a raft of top stars – as per usual.
