Matt Hardy Hospitalised After Potentially Serious Injury At AEW All Out

Matt Hardy suffered yet another serious head injury during his bout with Sammy Guevara at AEW All Out. He was taken to hospital immediately after the match.

At AEW All Out, Matt Hardy faced Sammy Guevara in a ‘Broken Rules’ March and suffered a scary looking injury in the process.

The match, contested under Last Man Standing Rules, ultimately saw Hardy take the win but not before one of the biggest spots of the match seemed to go sickeningly wrong.

Towards the end of the match, Guevara hit Hardy with a spear from a high platform through a table below. They seemed to overshoot the landing and Hardy’s head hit concrete with his opponent landing on top of him.

The match was temporarily stopped but did restart for a short sequence that saw Hardy take the win. It had been announced that he would leave AEW were he not victorious.

PWInsider announced that Hardy was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure for an evaluation and possible MRI scan. Hardy was clearly suffering the effects of the hit in the bout’s closing stages so a concussion is definite possibility.

AEW were at pains later in the show to announce that their resident medic, Dr. Doc Sampson cleared Hardy to resume the match.

Hardy suffered a serious head injury in a previous bout between the two after Guevara threw a chair at his head edge first which resulted in a massive gash to Hardy’s forehead and severe blood loss as a consequence.
