Karrion Kross Vacates NXT Title – Huge Match Set To Crown New Champion

Just days after winning the NXT Championship at TakeOver XXX, Karrion Kross has been forced to vacate the title. A new champion will be crowned next week.

Karrion Kross With Scarlett

At NXT Takeover XXX last Saturday, Karrion Kross defeated Keith Lee to win the NXT Championship.

However in the process, Kross suffered a separated shoulder. He continued the bout but was soon sent for an MRI scan to determine the severity of that injury, according to Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque in the post-TakeOver conference call.

Speculation mounted that the injury would be severe enough to force Kross to vacate the belt and thus it proved. Sporting a sling in his injured arm and shoulder, Kross game to the ring accompanied by Scarlett to officially vacate the title after a reign of only 4 days.

Later in the show it was announced that the future of the title will be decided next week on a special Tuesday edition of NXT.

Four former NXT Champions, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Finn Balor and Adam Cole will compete in the first ever four-way, 60 minute Iron Man match!

This incredible match will determine which of the men will win the vacated title.

When announcing the match, NXT General Manager William Regal wishes Kross well in his ‘long recovery’. This seems to suggest that it will be some time before we see the duo of the now former champion and Scarlett.
