Everyone has dealt with their time differently during the pandemic, but Ethan Page made a dramatic change for the better.
Talking to Tommy Dreamer on his House Of Hardcore podcast, Page confirmed he lost 50 pounds since he started working out at home.
I thought while the entire world is sleeping, I’m going to take this time to become the biggest superstar in professional wrestling – which was my goal. And I needed, needed to fix my body. Gyms are closed, I have literally nothing. I go online and spend $700 Canadian dollars on a recumbent bike, so that I can have a stationary bike in my gym.
Which I still, to this day, work out in my garage gym in negative-one degree Celsius, 30 degree Fahrenheit weather, every single morning. I still have not gone to a regular gym unless I’m traveling. It’s a daily thing, I changed my entire mindset of who I am as a person and what I’m able to do.
And now I have to do some physical activity every single day or I go insane. I’m choosing my foods better, it’s — it was all a mental mindset though. And I had to put myself there in order to pull this off… [at my heaviest I was] 265. Today I am 215, but at the last set of tapings. Final Resolution, Ethan Page vs. Karl Anderson, I am 209 pounds for that match.
It’s certainly an inspirational figure to be able to lose in the space of a few months.
The changed mindset is to be commended, and Page comments that you don’t need all the top kit and a huge budet to make it happen.
My biggest workout is a skipping rope. Push-ups, I do on a regular basis, sit-ups I do every single day. These are all body movements. It’s not — you don’t to go to the best gym, you don’t need to be able to afford the best food. I literally joke with fans when they ask me what supplements I take. I say, ‘The cheapest ones on Amazon.’ Because you and your body are the most important thing when it comes to fitness.
Everything else, like the weights and the supplements and all that is a bonus. And if you are able to use it, that’s great. But at the end of the day, you literally just need yourself, and to be put in a mental state where you want to succeed and you want to change your body.
