Former WWE Female Star Makes Unexpected Debut On AEW Dynamite As Part Of Deadly Draw Tournament

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw the debut of a former WWE female star that hasn’t been seen on television for over four years.

Over the whole run of All Elite Wrestling this past year, a whole slew of former WWE stars have made their debut on PPV or on AEW Dynamite. Most of these, such as Brodie Lee, Jon Moxley, Matt Hardy and FTR have been preceded by significant speculation and anticipation. Even as recently as last night, one of the ‘victims’ of WWE’s mass April releases made a debut that many had been looking forward to for some time.

Later in the same show though, another debut occurred that came out of left field to put it mildly.

The debut occurred whilst the rules were being revealed for AEW’s ‘Deadly Draw’ women’s tag team tournament. The tournament will see 16 women drawn randomly into eight teams by means of drawing colours. Those teams will then be randomly matched in a single elimination format.

On Dynamite, Former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose was shown with her new manager Vickie Guerrero. It was revealed that not only had Rose drawn purple in the tournament but so had her new tag team partner, the debuting Arianne.

Eagle eyed viewers will recognise the newcomer as former Funkadactyl and WWE Total Divas cast member, Cameron.

To say this is a random debut is putting it mildly. Arianne hasn’t been seen on television since early 2016 and there had been zero chatter about her imminent return.

Whilst it is only fair to reserve judgement, it is fair to say that this debut is not likely to set fans’ pulses racing.

The Deadly Draw tournament begins this Monday on the AEW YouTube channel. Other participants confirmed so far are Brandi Rhodes and Allie.
