With both WWE and AEW being forced to mainly tape their programming in recent months rather than air live, spoilers have been hard to contain. Whilst the lack of fans has made it easier than usual to keep a lid on results and reports, certain major happenings have got into the public domain; not least news of a major debut on next week’s AEW Dynamite.

The second part of AEW’s Fyter Fest was spoiled in full on Reddit. Keith Lee’s NXT title win was inadvertently spoiled on Instagram by a WWE contracted talent!

One of the biggest surprises to leak was Eric Bischoff’s appearance as the guest moderator on the recent debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy.

Bischoff’s AEW debut was a well received aspect of a highly entertaining segment. Sadly for those that like to experience these events unspoiled, the appearance was leaked on Reddit soon after the show was filmed.

On the latest instalment of his ‘Saturday Night Special’ YouTube show, former AEW champion Chris Jericho claims that the spoiler was specifically leaked by an ‘NXT Reject’ who was at the show. The DemoGod also suggests this individual will never work with AEW again.

In response to a fan’s question on the matter he said:

“Social media is a different ball of wax, though. I think the amount of people who are on social media is very small compared to the overall people watching,” Jericho said. “For example, when we had the debate and Eric Bischoff was announced on Reddit — and we know the spy is, by the way. Oh, we know. He’ll never fucking be back in AEW. [An] NXT reject was a spy, so print that,”

Jericho didn’t name the specific talent but given that it is a male former NXT talent who was present at the tapings, the finger of suspicion seems to point at Tino Sabbatelli.

Jericho elaborated on the leak and the decision on whether AEW should announce the appearance of keep their counsel:

“I was like, listen, we can announce this or we can just not announce it and don’t worry about it and see, you know, the people that know will know and maybe they’ll watch if they weren’t going to. The people that don’t know, will still be surprised. That’s exactly what happened. People were super surprised that Bischoff was there and it worked out great.”

Chris Jericho’s Saturday Night Special has been something of a revelation over the last few months. It seems to fly under the radar somewhat in terms of fan awareness but it is usually a highly entertaining watch.
