After missing last week’s episode of Raw in the midst of her fiancée Andrade requesting (and securing) his WWE release speculation arose regarding the status of Charlotte Flair.

She has now taken to social media herself to confirm the reason for her ongoing absence is due to contracting COVID-19.

After previously challenging Asuka to a Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania, it has now been confirmed that Rhea Ripley will take that spot.

After missing Raw without given reason last week, rumours swirled that her absence was in some way with Andrade requesting his release from WWE the week prior. This past Sunday, WWE confirmed that release had been granted.

Now Charlotte has explained the reason for her absence, we should see her back on TV in a few weeks and it would be premature to rule her out of WrestleMania at this stage.

Flair becomes the latest name in WWE to confirm that they have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. The most prominent of these was Drew McIntyre who was out of action for a period of isolation ahead of January’s Royal Rumble event.
