On last night’s episode of NXT, big changes were made to the line up and qualifying process for the upcoming ladder match for the NXT North American Championship at Takeover XXX.

Originally it was announced that the five competitors in the match would be determined by five triple threat matches on the weekly show.

So far this had seen Bronson Reed and Dexter Lumis qualify.

On this week’s show it was announced that due to an injury suffered last week, Lumis will no longer compete in the match.

The qualifier count remained at two as Damian Priest secures victory in his triple threat match with Oney Lorcan and Ridge Holland.

We also learned that next week will see one final triple threat match between Kushida, Cameron Grimes and a mystery opponent.

This will leave two slots open. These slots are to be filled by the winners of two one on one matches that will take place in the coming weeks.

Both of these matches will pit competitors from the four previous triple threat qualifiers against each other who DID NOT take the fall in their respective matches.

The first of these two matches, that will both take place in two weeks time, will see Finn Balor face Johnny Gargano. Neither of these two were pinned or submitted in their qualifying matches.

The other match will see Ridge Holland face the competitor not involved in the fall with next week’s final triple threat.

Takeover 30 will take place on Saturday August 22nd at the WWE Performance Center.

The only match officially confirmed is Io Sharai defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Dakota Kai, who was named number one contender by beating Rhea Ripley this week.

Clearly we are also going to see Keith Lee defending his NXT Championship against Karrion Kross and also something involving Pat McAfee and Adam Cole following their angle on this week’s show.
