Royal Rumble may well have set us on the road to WrestleMania but even WWE need to pull into the occasional service station on the way.

If we roll with this analogy, that would make the Elimination Chamber PPV a quick wee, a Greggs sausage roll and a can of Tizer on the road to Tampa, right?

The PPV will take place this Sunday with many of the matches having major implications for the ‘Show of Shows’.

If you want all the details about the event you can read them on our Elimination Chamber Cheat Sheet right here.

We asked our Hooked On Wrestling panel to complete their predictions. Bear in mind, these predictions were indeed made before SmackDown. If you want to see if you can out-predict our motley crew then you can enter our WWE Elimination Chamber prediction contest here.

Elimination Chamber Match For The WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston

Paul Benson: When you look at this, there is one hell of a collection of talent in here. It also feels like Drew McIntyre’s style is tailored made for an explosive, exciting entrance into a match such as this. It’s going to be tons of fun isn’t it? Who’s going to win. McIntyre. Fairly cut and dry for me. Expect to also see a scenario that sets up the Scot against Sheamus at Fastlane (Please let it be Fastlane rather than WrestleMania!) and The Fiend re-emerging in some form to restart his feud with Randy Orton.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Marc Hemingway: There’s no way Drew is losing the belt here. I think the last two standing will be himself and Sheamus to set up a WrestleMania match. The Irishman will get a couple of near falls but then he’ll get a Claymore to the head and be out.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

James Dee: I think Drew wins this one. He’s been on a roll for a while now and whilst Kofi/Styles/Orton will all have a good showing I think this is ultimately the story of Sheamus and Drew. Drew should take the victory but Sheamus is going to have reason to challenge at ‘Mania. It’s been a while since the Celtic Warrior was bumped up to main event level but there is no doubt he deserves to be there and I for one look forward to the epic Celtic face off at WrestleMania

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Elimination Chamber Match: Winner To Face Roman Reigns For Universal Championship: Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens vs. King Corbin vs. Sami Zayn vs. Jey Uso

Paul Benson: Now we’re talking! Whilst it might not be star studded, this EC match is certainly full of talent and intrigue. The story of having the winner have to face Reigns the same night is quietly inspired. It really feeds into Reigns’ tremendous character that projects outward strength and power but actually exhibits extreme cowardice throughout. As for a winner? Hard to call. It is going to be a babyface, of that I am fairly certain, but which one? They all have merit but I am going to go with Cesaro. It feels like he is being showcased for a reason and a match with Reigns is fresh. Or maybe I have my blinkers on and I’m just predicting this because I really want to see it!

Winner: Cesaro

Marc Hemingway: Corbin is in this to take the first fall, no doubt. Could we see Kevin Owens win the match and go up against Reigns… again? Do we want to? This’ll come down to Uso and KO but Uso will get the win and Reigns comes straight out to demand his match.

HOW ABOUT...  WWE Elimination Chamber Prediction Contest

Winner: Jey Uso

James Dee: This is by far the more interesting Chamber match of the evening and I know I picked Cesaro to win the Rumble but hear me out. I think he wins this one. He is right on the cusp of the main event and this could be the match to finally get him there. A good showing here followed by an unexpectedly competitive match with Roman later on in the evening is just the thing to get the fans behind him. Even if I’m wrong and Bryan takes it to help set up a program for WrestleMania this match should be amazing with all the talent involved. I think we all win here

Winner: Cesaro

WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs. SmackDown Elimination Chamber Winner

Roman Reigns

Paul Benson: Well Reigns is winning isn’t he? As he should. I am going with the Universal champion vs. Roman Reigns. I don’t expect this match to take place right after the SmackDown chamber match so I wouldn’t expect a Money In The Bank cash-in style instant win. I suspect we will see Cesaro coming in selling the beating he took in the earlier match, Roman will smell blood but will then be surprised how much fight Cesaro has left to take it to him. Reigns will win in the end (By making him pass out) but we viewers will just know for sure that if the playing field had been level, Cesaro would have taken him. And that, my friends, is how you present a fantastic heel champion.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Marc Hemingway: Uso lays down for Reigns to get the easy pin and win. Edge turns up and takes them both out declaring himself as The Tribal Chief’s opponent for ‘Mania.

Winner: Roman Reigns

James Dee: This is the payoff to the brutal chamber match and Roman is going to have an unexpectedly hard fight on his hands, or he’s going to get Jey Uso to lay down for him Fingerpoke of Doom style. Either way, this is more about the story that’s going to feed into ‘Mania and a title match immediately after a Chamber match stinks of a certain Rated ‘R’ Money in the Bank winner…

Winner: Roman Reigns

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. ???

Asuka Lacey Evans
Credit: WWE

Paul Benson: Conspiracy theory time: I think they’ve known Evans was pregnant for weeks and she was always going to be replaced by a mystery replacement. A woman waiting in the wings to make her presence felt on Raw – Rhea Ripley. I am saying we will get the Aussie making her Raw debut in this match and taking the title to boot.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

Marc Hemingway: Asuka vs. Lacey Evans isn’t happening so either the match will be called off completely (which could be the reason the women’s tag match was just added) or Asuka gets a quick win over someone like Billie Kay. Asuka still the champion at the end of the night.

Winner: Asuka

James Dee: If anyone thinks that Charlotte isn’t going into WrestleMania as champion then I’m afraid you haven’t been paying attention for very long. I said it before the Royal Rumble and it’s still relevant now. I hate that Asuka has to be fed to Flair again, I hate it with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns but it’s going to happen and I just need to accept it. My only solace is that hopefully Rhea Ripley can come back and give Charlotte some comeuppance at ‘Mania

HOW ABOUT...  New Title Match Set For WWE Elimination Chamber

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (c) vs. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair

Shayna Baszler Nia Jax Bianca Belair Sasha Banks

Paul Benson: So it’s confirmed we are going with Banks vs. Belair at WrestleMania then? Good! It is the right move, and here is where we see the gears start to turn. The champions are retaining, for sure. The match is a springboard for The Boss and the EST of WWE to get their beef going in time for ‘Mania.

Winners: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

Marc Hemingway: Banks is the Smackdown champion and Belair has a match against a title holder of her choosing at WrestleMania. They’re tagging together in this match and so there’s only one outcome: they implode. Plus, Jax and Baszler were JUST on NXT so we don’t want to waste that promo. The tag team champions will watch as they get counted out or pick up the easy pin.

Winners: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

James Dee: Belair and Banks are set for a collision course at WrestleMania and Baszler has too much history with Dakota Kai for her to drop the Women’s Tag Titles before getting to fight the winner of the Women’s Dusty Classic, so this one goes to Jax/Baszler.

Winners: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

United States Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Riddle vs. Keith Lee

Lashley Riddle Keith Lee

Paul Benson: We’ve been hearing rumours that Keith Lee might not be in this match but nothing official has been said or even hinted at so let’s assume the triple threat is on as planned. I’m predicting Lee to win for a few reasons. Mainly because he could do with the belt. A strong US title run could help establish him in that upper midcard in a spot he should have really cemented by now. The other, more exciting reason is that I want the belt off Lashley because I want him to be McIntyre’s WrestleMania challenger. His recent character has been awesome. A heel so powerful and angry that even his own stable can’t control him seems the perfect for foil for the powerful, popular babyface going into the biggest show of the year. If Lashley loses here, it allows him to drop the belt without taking a loss (Well hello there, Riddle) and gives him further fuel to his anger.

Winner: Keith Lee

Marc Hemingway: I would love to see Riddle get the win here. The US Title would suit him and he’d be a fighting champion. Lee’s push seems to have stalled so I think Riddle will pin Lee for the win then will carry on feuding with Lashley through to WrestleMania.

Winner: Riddle

James Dee: Give me Keith Lee as champion or give me death! Lashley has been great in The Hurt Business and the championship looks great on him but taking the US Title off him frees him up for a battle of the hosses against Brock Lesnar at ‘Mania. Riddle would also be a good shout but I think Lee can do much more with the belt around his waist, that man is made to be dripping in gold.

Winner: Keith Lee
